Privacy Policy
This policy covers Clipry AI at ai.clipry.com. It explains what we collect when you analyze a link, who else sees it, and what your choices are. For the rest of Clipry, see the Clipry Privacy Policy.
What we collect
Links and files you submit
When you paste a URL, we fetch that page and store the address you submitted along with the summary and transcript we produce. When you upload a file, we store the file and the text we extract from it. Each analysis gets its own long random address so you can come back to it later.
From your sign-in provider
You can use Clipry AI without an account. If you sign in with Google, Microsoft, or Yahoo, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture. We never see your password. We do not use that sign-in to read your inbox, contacts, calendar, or files.
Usage and technical data
We log requests to the service: the URL analyzed, timing, errors, your IP address, and your browser's user agent. We record the IP address you signed up from and the IP address of each login. This is used to run the service, debug failures, and enforce rate limits and abuse rules.
Cookies and local storage
We use an essential cookie to keep you signed in and a session cookie to keep the service working. Both are marked Secure and HttpOnly. If you are not signed in, your recent analyses are remembered in your browser's local storage rather than on our servers. We use self-hosted analytics instead of ad networks. Your sign-in provider may set its own cookies during authentication. Blocking essential cookies will break sign-in.
Who processes what you submit
Producing a summary means sending content to a language model. The link or file you submit, and the text extracted from it, may be sent to one or more of these providers:
- Anthropic, Google, OpenRouter, and Perplexity: language models that generate summaries and answer follow-up questions.
- Tavily and our own self-hosted search index: web search used to add context.
- Cloudflare: content delivery, DDoS protection, and R2 storage for uploaded PDFs.
- Linode (Akamai): application and database servers.
We do not train models on your content, and we do not sell your content or your personal data. We cannot control the retention policies of the model providers above, so do not paste anything into Clipry AI that you would not be comfortable sending to a third party.
Public and third-party pages
When you submit a URL, our servers request that page from its host. That host sees a request coming from our server, not from you. We only fetch publicly reachable addresses. We do not bypass paywalls, log in on your behalf, or use your credentials.
How we use your information
- To run the service: fetch the link, produce the summary, and show you your history.
- To keep you signed in and protect your account.
- To find what is slow, broken, or failing.
- To enforce rate limits and stop abuse of our infrastructure.
- To respond when you contact us.
- To comply with legal obligations.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your personal data.
- We don't sell what you submit.
- We don't run ads.
- We don't train AI models on your content.
Share links
Every analysis gets a long, random address. Anyone who has that address can read the analysis without signing in. Treat those links like keys. If you post one publicly, anyone may be able to see it.
When we share information
- Service providers. The model, search, hosting, and storage providers listed above process data on our behalf.
- Legal process. We comply with valid court orders, subpoenas, and law-enforcement requests when legally required. We push back on overbroad requests when we can.
- Sale or merger. If Clipry is sold or merged, your data goes with the company and we will notify users before material changes.
Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit. Files stored in R2 are encrypted at rest by Cloudflare. We use limited admin access, MFA on admin accounts, rate limiting, and monitoring. No system is perfectly secure. If we confirm a breach that affects users, we will notify affected users as required by law.
How long we keep things
- Analyses: kept while your account is active, or until you delete them. Guest analyses are kept so their share links keep working.
- Uploaded files: kept alongside the analysis they belong to and removed when it is deleted.
- Request logs: retained for a limited period for debugging and abuse prevention, then rotated out.
- Deleted account: personal data is deleted within 30 days where feasible. Operational logs and backups may persist up to 90 days.
- Abuse records and legal holds: retained as long as required for safety, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.
Your rights
You can delete individual analyses, clear your whole history, delete your account, request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or object to processing. If you are in the EU, the UK, California, or another place with specific privacy rights, you can exercise those rights the same way. Email support@clipry.com.
Children
Clipry AI is not for children under 13. If we learn we have collected data from a child under 13, we delete it.
International users
Our servers are in the United States. If you are outside the US, using Clipry AI means your data is transferred to and processed in the US, and by the model providers listed above.
Changes
If we change this policy materially, we will say so in the app, by email, or on the site. The date at the top is always current.
